Sambhar saved by local residents in Sundernagar

Mandi: A Sambhar which had fallen today in BBMB Canal near Sundernagar was saved by the local residents with the help of volunteers of Road Safety Club and staff of BBMB Fire tender . According to President of Road Safety Club Rajinder Bhandari, some of youths spotted the Sambhar, which had fallen in to BBMB canal near Sundernagar today afternoon. The information was given to the various authorities including fire brigade and the Sambhar was taken out of canal and was handed over to the forest officials . He further said that it took nearly half an hour to rescue the animal which was injured. The BBMB authorities have not fenced the 11KM canal between Baggi and Sundernagar and most of time many animals fall in to the canal. I

In the past district administration had asked the BBMB authorities to fence the canal but no action was taken by BBMB authorities so far. According to DFO Sundernagar V.K Babu the animal was given first aid and was set free at DPF Tramber in near by forests.
