60 escape unhurt as bus mishap is averted



Solan: As many as 60 people escaped unhurt when a Shimla-Haridawar bound HRTC bus partly skidded off the road near Barog this morning, which was filled beyond its capacity by pilgrims going to attend Makarsakranti “Shanan” (Holy bath) in the Ganga River.

Police sources said that Nahan Depot HRTC bus on the way to Haridawar from Shimla, which at 0930hrs skidded off the road. All the passengers were evacuated from the vehicle halfway in the air before it could have caused any loss. No one was injured in the mishap and all the rescued were taken to their destination in another bus called to carry them, sources added.
