Western Disturbances bring rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

The hill state experienced wide spread rain and snowfall as western disturbances have been active here since last two days.

Headquarters of Lahaul Spiti district recorded three-centimeter snowfall. High reaches of district like Keylong, Saptrishi Hills, Goshal Hills,  Kaza valley, Kunzum Pass Lahaul Spiti and Rohtang Pass also recorded moderate to heavy snowfall for second consecutive day today.

Light to moderate snowfall was also reported at Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra district, Mani Mahesh in Chamba, Kinner Kailash and Shrikhand Kailash of Kinnaur district in last 24 hours.

Kangra recorded 17 mm rainfall in the state till today morning, where as Shimla recorded 10 mm and Manali recorded 7 mm rainfall respectively.

Minimum temperature plunged exceptionally low in the capital town as Mashobra was at 2 degrees and Shimla recorded 5.6 degrees.

Where as other places like Keylong in Lahaul Spiti recorded            2.1 degrees, Kalpa 4.5 degrees, Manali 4 degrees, Una 10 degrees, Solan 11 degrees, Kangra, Bhunter in Kullu and Nahan 12 degrees, Mandi and Sundernagar 13 degrees and Mandi recorded.

The meteorological office has forecast rain and snowfall at few places in next 24 hours.
