Shimla: Sarahan residents have complained that the soil conservation office of the agriculture department in the town has remained locked for the last more than a month, due to which farmers and labourers have been facing problems.

They claimed that the agriculture soil conservation development officer, agriculture extension officer and watchman posted there have not been attending office. Farmers from the area and uppradhan of Sarahan Rajesh Bindal, Bani Bakholi panchayat pradhan Laxami Prashar and Surla Jataun panchayat pradhan Vijit Thakur said that they had visited the office many times to get payments for labourers who constructed tanks under various government schemes but found the premises locked every time.

Agriculture soil conservation officer Dr Virender Attari said that he had been given additional charge of Sarahan office and would attend the problems of people very shortly.
