PUC pull HPSEB for not submitting proper reply into CAG query

Public Undertaking Committee (PUC) of State Legislative Assembly, Chairman Asha Kumari have taken strong exception, after failing Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (council) to submit proper reply taking cognizance on audit paras of CAG report pertaining to year 2007-08.

The communique released by the Public Relation officer Hardayal Singh of HP Assembly secretariat yesterday said quoting Ms. Kumari that 15 days warning period was issued to concerned official while hearing the audit paras of CAG in its meeting held on May 16 and 17.

Taking strong notice over the laxity of board to not give sufficient reply, chairman found it incomplete as PUC was hearing audit paras number 3.1, 3.2 and 4.7 of year 2007-08 CAG report along with 68, 73,74 and 76 audit reports of HPSEB.

PUC took strong cognizance after not finding the HPSEB reply into CAG audit paras sufficient, spokesman said that HPSEB was directed to bring complete reply before it within 15 days of hearing and keeping recommendation of 69 the audit reports of HPSEB.

PUC also ordered the Principal Secretary multi-power project and energy and Principal Secretary Civil Supply, Consumer affairs corporation to present the oral evidences on June 4, 2013 into CAG report

PUC BJP members Ishwar Dass Dhiman, Verinder Singh Kanwar, Vikram Singh and Baldev Singh Tomar, Congress member Bamber Singh and Anirudh Singh also attended the meeting.

Public Account Committee(PAC) and PUC address the audit paras of CAG on government and public accounts after laying of report on the floor of house each year.
