Mandi: Annoyed over the working of Mandi additional district and sessions judge Rakesh Kainthla, members of the District Bar Association today appealed the Chief Justice of Himachal High Court Kurian Josheph to redress their grievances. The Bar association passed a resolution to this affect and sent it to the high court for necessary action.

According to Lalit Kapoor, president of the Bar association, on the requisition of advocates a general house of Mandi District Bar Association was convened where most of advocates apprised the house that the day to day functioning of the said additional sessions judge was not good. They further said that the presiding officer is used to acting in a mechanical, hyper-technical and non co-operative manner and invariably holds the court till 7.30 PM.

It was further alleged by the advocates that the presiding officer takes pleasure in filing complaint against the advocates to Bar Council of Himachal over patty and insignificant matters and the judge does not accommodate advocates even on genuine grounds.

According to Sameer Kashyap, general secretary of the Bar association, the resolution was sent to the Chief Justice for consideration. He further said that soon a delegation of members would meet the Chief Justice and appraise him problem being faced by them.
