Manali- A perfect destination for nature lovers and travel freaks

Today Manali hasbecome one such destination that not only attracts the adventure minds from across the country but many foreigners have made it their home because of its undemanding and casual lifestyle. Over the years the town and its surroundings have turned into a leading destination for honeymooners and adventure freaks.

Apart from indulging in adventure activities Manali could also be a visit to see some of the most beautiful picturesque sites, temples, passes and monasteries. It is one such place, which is blessed with natural beauty, and there are a number of inescapable captivating scenic spots like Naggar, Kasol, Manikaran and Solang valley. It is quiet a scenic grandeur as it is surrounded by a lavish display of goddess and gods and their numerous pilgrimage centre’s and Hindu temples. Each temple of the town is accomplished with some ancient legend like the famous Hidimba Temple that is associated with Hidimbi Devi a figure from Indian epic Mahabharata or the Manu Temple dedicated to Manu, a divine creator of human race.

One such idyllic location on the outer hills of Manali is a small village of Kothi, which is about twelve kilometers from the town. As one travels towards Rothang Pass by fleeting through the most divine beauty and into the dizzying distance one feels as to never return home. The natural beauty of this place gives a good charm to the holidaying elites.

And just about few kilometers from here is another suburb of Madhi which is quiet an enjoyable ride from Manali as this route on the Rothang Pass is one of the best routes to have a bike ride. Madhi, the last stopover before Rohtang is more noted for its adventure sport of paragliding, which is possible only during peak season as Madhi otherwise remain unapproachable during winter months and so other options of paragliding is at Kullu, Solang Valley and near Bhunter Airport.

Mostly a tourist would prefer to spend at least half a day to enjoy this beautiful ride whichusually starts which a basic package but if anybody wants to make the sport more ultimate then a higher package of half an hour can be taken that takes you all the way to Kothi hooked to a glider giving full taste of flying over themighty Himalayas.

There are number of tour organizers at Manali who offer enthralling and well rounded trekking, camping, paragliding and jeep safari’s. “We arrange trekking tours and day hikes from Manali to Brighu Lake, Beas Kund, Malana, Hamta Pass, Deo Tibba and Pin Parvati. Our trek package starts from Rupees 2500 per person and we give our trekkers all the basic equipments like tents, sleeping bags and kitchen items. Apart from these we have an entire team of our crewmembers like cooks, guides and other experienced staff that accompanies the trekking group. River rafting and skiing are also good pastimes in Solang Nullah and Rohtang Pass and one another activity that people now are falling for is Jeep Safari from Manali to Spiti Valley, Lahaul or Chandertal with a layover or round trip depending on the location and the package” says Raj, an executive from Himachal Holidays, a tour organizer company, Manali.

Another thing that can be included in the things to do in case if you are a wildlife buff is the ‘Van Vihar National Park’ which got noticed as a national park just few years ago. Apart from learning about different species of animals and birds it is also a perfect venue for taking a walk or see the beautiful surroundings. Jana waterfall near Naggar, surrounded by trees and orchards is surely a charming picnic spot whereas Jogini waterfall is quiet a pleasure for nature lovers and visionaries.
