J. P Nadda assures to improve air connectivity in Himachal Pradesh

Union Health Minister Mr. J.P Nadda discussed several crucial proposals to improve air connectivity for Himachal Pradesh in a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Ashok GajapathiRaju

“There has a been long felt need for improving air connectivity and strengthening civil aviation infrastructure in state of Himachal Pradesh. I have discussed several proposals in this regard with the Civil Aviation Minister and he has assured all necessary support for improving air connectivity to the state” said Mr. Nadda.

The proposals, which were discussed at the meeting, included creation of aircraft fuelling facility at Gaggal Airport in Dharamshala and increase in flights on Delhi-Kullu and Delhi-Dharamshala routes.

Mr. Nadda also took up the issue of extending the operational hours at Kullu airport. This would go a long way in improving connectivity to Kullu which a key tourist destination.

Mr. J.P also Nadda discussed the possibility of providing incentives to encourage non-scheduled operators on Kullu-Chandigarh and Kullu-Delhi route. The Civil Aviation Minister also assured that to improve connectivity the possibility of starting helicopter services between Shimla and Chandigarh will also be explored,” said Mr.. Nadda.

“The Civil Aviation Ministry would explore the possibility of starting additional flights during the winter season. By improving the air connectivity, not only the local residents of Himachal Pradesh will benefit directly, but this would provide a major boost to tourism in the state and would also give a fillip to other economic activities also” concluded Mr. J.P Nadda
