Himachal Pradesh gets 50th award for infrastructural development

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has been adjudged as the best state in the country for overall infrastructural development in  the ‘State of States Survey’ conducted for assessing overall development during the year 2011 at New Delhi today.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal received the award from Union Finance Minister, Pranab Mukerjee in the conclave organised by India Today Group at New Delhi. It is worth mentioning here that the present state government under the leadership of Prem Kumar Dhumal had been conferred upon 50 awards for its best performance in various developmental indicators during this period. India Today Group which conducts the independent ‘State of States Survey’ every year had adjudged Himachal Pradesh as the best big state last year too. Its performance had also been found best in education, health, investment and macro-economy in State of States Survey, earlier.

The efforts of the State had been appreciated for infrastructural development especially in tourism Sector for initiating ambitious scheme like ‘Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai’, ‘Har Gaon Ki Kahani’ and  Home Stay besides investment in education and transport sector, especially the most modern bus stand constructed in Shimla.

If you have by chance had a look at the roads of Shimla till a few months ago, you’d really wonder what infrastructure development these guys are referring to.  These roads were full of potholes for last dont know how many years, the bypass road is still like that. These awards are absolute sham.
