Weather affects normal life in Sirmaur District

Normal life in the Sirmaur district is affected after heavy rain. The headquarters of the district got about 95 mm rainfall, many roads also remained blocked after landslides.

The report said that Nahan town and its adjoining areas had experienced heavy rain this afternoon, which continued for more than five hours today.

Including main road Nahan – Shimla, Nahan – Paonta Sahib and many other link roads in Sirmaur district also remained blocked by the landslides at several places.

The PWD officials claimed that the roads are being cleared on the war footing but most of rural roads in the district are still unattended by the department due to which the residents of rural areas are suffering a lot.

The residents Surinder Singh, Mazboor Ali, Purshotam, Tota Ram, Mohan Lal etc. said that they had been deprived to go out of their areas to purchase the required items as the buses are not reaching to the villages for the last more than a week due to continuous heavy rain in the area.

They requested the concerned authorities to come in action to remove the debris from the roads so that they could go to the main markets to collect the required items.
