He said that while adjoining Jaunsar Area of Uttrakhand state having similar geographical and topographical condition has been declared as Scheduled Tribe area in 1967 while the Trans Giri area residents are living in much tougher terrain and difficult conditions have been left out despite several promises made to them by respective State and Central governments due to weak Congress political leadership in Himachal Pradesh which could not lobby for similar status.

He told that vast area of Sirmour District beyond the Giri River has remained backwards and not seen any concept of development or progress even after 60 years of Independence due to neglect by successive Congress governments in the State.
