HP Police observes its first Raising Day

The Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat addressed during a function organized today on occasion of the first Raising Day of H.P. Police department. He emphasized that police personnel should work in a friendly manner and with full responsibility and they should be more practical while performing their duties to keep up the trust of the common citizens. He said the law and order always remain foremost priority of any civilized society and therefore, the police had an important role to play. It was the matter of satisfaction that police had been performing its duties with responsibility in every sector.

The Governor expressed his concern over the fact that despite achieving development in every sector, the level of morality in the society had gone down. He also expressed worry over the rising cases of addiction in the younger generation adding that serious efforts should be made to check this menace. He congratulated the police department for organizing its first Raising Day. He honoured the outstanding sportsperson of the department on this occasion besides the media person. DGP Sumesh Goyal welcomed the Governor and highlighted the main activities and programmes being carried out by the police department in the State.

A colourful cultural programme was presented by the Jawans on the occasion. Former Governor of Nagaland and former DGP Himachal Pradesh Ashwani Kumar, Chief Secretary V.C. Pharka and senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
