Fresh snow in higher reaches of Himachal

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced light snowfall in last 24 hrs however rest of state was mainly dry today. There is report of a light snowfall on 13050 ft. high Rohtang Pass and Dhualdhar ranges in the state. Baijnath in Kangra district recorded one mm rainfall. Keylong headquarters Lahaul Spiti recorded the trace of snowfall. Lady of Keylong, Seven Sisters hill and Goshal hills also got light snowfall in the state.

With blanked of clouds overnight minimum temperature increased by a couple of degrees. A minimum temperature of Shimla was eight degrees today and nearly two degrees above normal. Met office said that another western disturbance is becoming active in the state from Dec 10 onward which would bring rain or snowfall at many places in the mid-hills and few places in high reaches in the and foothills on Dec 11 and 12.

Keylong was coldest in the state recorded minus 2.4 degrees and 1.6 degrees above normal, Kalpa 0 8 degrees, Manali 3.8 degrees, Bhuntar 4 degrees and Sunderngar 4.5 degrees, Dharamshala 6.6 degrees. Mandi was minimum at 5.4 degrees, Dalhousie 5.8 degrees, Una and Solan six degrees, Palampur 6.5 degrees, Kangra 7.1 degrees, Bilaspur seven degrees and Hamirpur 7.5 degrees, respectively. The Met office forecast mainly dry weather in the state in next 24 hours.
