CEC felicitates youth for contribution to democracy

The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India A.K. Joti, in a function organised by Election Department at Gaitey Theatre, felicitated youth of the State for their active involvement in strengthening the democratic system by way of motivating youth in different parts of the State for participation in the election process. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) lauded the efforts of youth icons and others for creating awareness amongst the youth who are the future electors of the nation and will make the democracy stronger. Youth icons Muskan who is specially abled youth along with noted Pahari Singer Vicky Chauhan were honoured by the Commission.

 

The volunteers of Gian-Vigyan smite presented drama Show highlighting the importance of aware elector in the election for the stronger democracy. A film produced by election department for awareness of elector was also shown on this occasion. Winners of various competitions organised by election department including Pritam Kharka Kullu, Jiwan Ram Mandi, Alisha Rai Kangra, Shalu Thakur and Manjula Verma Shimla, Saijal Hamirpur and Jagmohan form Una received prizes from Chief Commissioner.

 

The Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat, Sr. Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha, Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena and Sudeep Jain, Director Generals E.C.I Dilip Sharma and Dhirendra Ojha and Chief Electoral Officer Pushpender Rajpoot, Addl. C.E.O. D.K. Rattan, Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police from all districts were also present on the occasion.
