Rainfall lashes many parts of Himachal

Heavy rainfall lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh today as the water overflowed water drainage system in the town and restricted the movement of people and traffic for few hours. The reports arriving said that flash flood occurred near the Rohtang Manali roads also disrupted the traffic and hampered the work of all weather tunnel with the partly damaging the project. Shimla town lashed with heavy rainfall in the afternoon as water drainage overflowed and come on the road. Rainfall also occurred at many parts in Kangra and Kullu district disrupting the normal life.

 

Dharamshala got 71 mm rainfall, Palampur 66 mm, Gohar in Mandi 49 mm, Baijnath in Kangra 46 mm, Nadaun in Hamirpur 36 mm, Baldwara in Mandi 34 mm, Kheri in Chamba 24 mm, Banjar of Kullu 22 mm, Mehre in Kangra 20 mm, Sarkaghat in Mandi 17 mm and Jubbal in Shimla 16 mm. Sujanpur in Hamirpur 15 mm, Jubbarhatti 12 mm each, Jogindernagar in Mandi & Manali in Kullu 11 mm each,Mandi 10 mm, Sunnibhajji of Shimla,Salooni in Chamba & Pachhad in Sirmaur 7 mm each,Paontasahib in Sirmaur 6 mm, Sangrah 5 mm, Theog in Shimla 4 mm, Pandoh in Mandi, Mashobra in Shimla, Sundernagar in Mandi & Kasauli in Solan 3 mm each.

 

The maximum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 20.7 degrees, Sunderngar 30.8 degrees, Bhuntar 32 degrees, Kalpa 22 degrees, Dharamshala 28.2 degrees, Una 35.5 degrees, Nhan 29.7 degrees and Solan 25 degrees respectively. The Met office warned of heavy rainfall at parts of Mid hills in next 24 hrs. It forecasts rainfall and thunder showers in the next 24 hours in many places in the mid, foothills and high reaches of the State.
