IMD office warns of heavy snowfall in parts of HP

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rainfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh and forecast of widespread rainfall in many parts of the State during the next 24 hours owing to Western disturbances. The mid and foothills likely to have heavy rain and thundershowers in the State as the rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the mid and foot hills and rain and snowfall at high reaches in next 24 hours.

 

The Met office attributes western disturbances and light cyclonic circulations for inclement weather. During last 24 hours Jogindernagar of Mandi got 84 mm rainfall, Mandi 78 mm, Nahan & Dharamshala 49 mm each, Paonta Sahib 43 mm, Bijahi in Mandi 34 mm, Palampur 25 mm, Gaggal 18 mm, Pandoh of Mandi 5 mm, Seobagh of Kullu 4 mm, Shimla and Khadrala 3 mm each.

 

The sweltering heat waves and humid conditions continue in the State as the day temperature increased marginally. The maximum temperature of Shimla was 23.5 degrees, Sundernagar 32.6 degrees, Bhunter in Kullu 33.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar 24.6 degrees, Dharamsala 28.4 degrees, Una 39.6 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur 29.4 degrees, Solan 28.5degrees and Kangra 33.5 degrees respectively.
