Guv convenes one day special session of HP Assembly to clear GST bill

The Himachal Pradesh Governor Mr Acharya Devvrat today convened special session of State Assembly for one day on May 26 to clear the GST Bill. Issuing the notification under article 174(1) of Indian Constitutions empower Governor to do so said that Special Session of
the Assembly to be held on May 26 at 1100 hours at Shimla Legislative complex.

 

The Government has recommended the Governor to convene this session as it was necessary to pass the GST Bill as it was desired by the Union Government bringing the new tax regime in month of July this year. The State Assembly already gave consent to ratify the bill as it was brought by the Union Government in the Parliament and required the ratification of each state assembly before it comes into force.
