HP Assembly budget session adjourns sine die, amid Opposition protest

    The Himachal Pradesh Assembly Budget Session adjourned sine die amid Opposition protest after transacting most business this afternoon clearing five bill including 2017-18 General Budget estimates. As the assembly was to take break this afternoon Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri said that Government want to move a proposal in the House that the Session should be sine-die as it had completed most of the mandatory business stating that House would go for two days holiday. He said that Session is about to end soon therefore Government want to sine die the budget session.
    The Opposition members Mr. Ravinder Singh Ravi alleged that Opposition opposes the Government move as there are number of issues including private member bills yet to be transacted in the Session. He alleged that Delhi High Court has today rejected Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh petition to quash the FIR of CBI and ED lodged against him in DA and Money laundering cases therefore Government is trying to run away to face the awkward situation in the house and now depending early adjournment of session.
    Speaker BBL Butail turned down plea of BJP members and said that as far as the matter of High Court order is concerned proceeding of this House did not deter by any Court order as the House could transact business and adjourn. The Opposition leader Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal wanted to intervene however, the Speaker moved the proposal to adjourned house sine dies which was accorded by the voice votes by the members however member of BJP started shouting slogan.
    The session ended without any formal address and references of Chief minister, leader of Opposition and Speaker. The session had begun on Mar 1 and completed 17 seating in which it passed five bills including year 2017-18 budget bill., and four others bill. The House passed HP Medical Service PESONS and Medicate Service Institutions Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property ) Amendment bill 2017, HP Early Childhood Care and Education Centre (Registration and Regulation Bill 2017  and Himachal Pradesh Court Fee Amendment Bill 2017.
    The House was also addressed by the Governor Mr. Acharya Devvrat on Mar 1 and had cleared supplementary budgets. On the last date of session Chief Minister also laid the copy of CAG in the house. Chief Minister presented year 2017-18 general budget on Mar 10 which was passed by the house on Mar 30 with budgetary demands of 29 departments.
    The Opposition members had staged number of walkouts and many against the ruling of chairs and Ministers also read the suo moto statements in the Assembly and House. Earlier the house was to scheduled to be adjourned on Mar 7 with three more sitting however the Government decided to sine die it today.
