Minimum temperature continues to be below normal

The night temperature continues to remain below normal in the State as it was recorded two to three degrees below the average temperature in the State however it was mainly dry after overnight rain or snowfall in few parts. The meteorological office recorded about two centimeter fresh snowfall at Kalpa in Kinnaur and Khadrala in Shimla district in the last 24 hours. High reaches of Lahaul Spiti district also recorded mild to light snowfall and down streams were lashed by rainfall.

 

In Shimla district Sunni Bajji got 12 mm rainfall, Dharamshala, Baijnath & Banjar of Kullu 6 mm each, Rampur five mm, Kheri in Chamaba four mm, Bajura of Kullu & Rohru of Shimla three mm each. Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was  low at minus 5.4 degree Celsius and below by 2.8 degree of normal, Kalpa minus  2.4 degrees, Manali minus  0.6 degrees,  Chamba three degrees, respectively. Shimla five degrees, Sunderngar in Mandi and Palampur 5.5 degrees, Solan 5.7 degrees,  Bilaspur 6.5 degrees respectively. Kangra 7.6 degrees, Hamirpur, Una, Dharmshala, Una and Hamirpur,nine degrees each, Mandi  and Nahan in Sirmaur 11 degrees respectively.

 

The Met office forecast rain or snow fall at isolated places in one or two places in next 24 hours in the high reaches.
