Met Office forecast snow, hailstorm and rainfall in parts of HP

Indian Meteorological Department forecast snow, hailstorm and rainfall in few parts of Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours and issued warning of heavy hailstorm and snow at one or two places on Feb 28 and Mar 1.

 

IMD Shimla Director Mr. Manmohan Singh said that fresh western disturbances likely to affect weather tomorrow morning onward and it would lash rain, hailstorms and snowfall at some parts of Himachal Pradesh moreover heavy rain, snowfall and hailstorm may occur at one or two places may disrupt lives from Feb 28 onward to March 1.

 

It was mainly dry and pleasant today however it was cold during the night and wee hours as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district recorded coldest at minus 9.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur 0.4 degrees, tourist resort Manali in Kullu 3.2  degrees, Bhuntar 4 degrees, Solan 4. 5 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi five degrees respectively.

 

Shimla town was recorded minimum at 5.8 degrees, Kangra 7.6 degrees, Una eight degrees, Dharamshala 10.8 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur 10.7 degrees and Mandi 11.5 degrees respectively.
