State Mourning on demise of Jayalalitha: Tricolor fly half-mast

On the demise of Jayalalitha yesterday, All National flags were flying at half mast in State mourning today. The mega Tricolor was flying half mass at the historic Ridge in Shimla town, Dalhousie, Dharamshala and Kullu besides flying half mast at the State Secretariat, Vidhan Sabha, Raj bhavan and all district headquarters and Government offices.

 

In a notification issued this morning, the State Chief secretary Mr. V. C. Pharka ordered to keep the National Flag at half mast on the advisory of the Union Home Ministry. As a mark of respect to departed dignitary the National flags would fly half mast in the capital of all states and union territory and thought the state of Tamilnadu, Satpal Chauhan Economic Advisor to Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India said in a advisory issued to all the state chief secretaries.
