The 45 feet tall effigy of demon king Ravana along with son Meghnadha and brother Kumbhkarna was consigned to flames at Jakhu Hills in Shimla by HP Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, as the Nation today celebrated Dussehra, the festival symbolizing victory of good over evil signifying Lord Rama’s Victory over Ravana with great zeal and gusto.

The Chief Minister said that Dussehra symbolizes victory of truth and good and anyone eyeing on the Nation with an evil eye would certainly be given a befitting reply. Earlier in the day he inaugurated the Rs 1.30 crore ‘Kirtan Hall’ which was constructed by Sankatmochan Temple Trust at Sankatmochan. He also paid obeisance at Shodsha Ganapati temple and at Shree Ram Temple and also performed Havana.
