Mercury touches 41.6 degrees Celsius at Una

The first day of this month in Himachal Pradesh witnessed sudden rise in the heat waves as the mercury touched 41.6 degree Celsius in Una. However, it was partly cloudy today in certain parts of the State.

Sweltering heat waves continue in this hill state as after keeping below 40 degrees during this and last week it suddenly rose to alarming scale as Una once again recorded 41.6 degrees today.

The Shimla town that was keeping high in between 23 to 25 degrees also rosed to 25.7 degrees today. The maximum temperature of Sundernagar was 34.6 degrees, Bhuntar 34.2 degrees, Kalpa 25.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar 25.6 degrees, Dharamshala 31.6 degrees, Nahan 34 degrees, Solan 32.4 degrees, Kangra 37.3 degrees and Manali 26 degrees .

Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during the next 24 hours.
