Rain showers bring down the Mercury level in HP

The dark clouds hovering in the sky followed by rain showers bring down mercury today and also remained unchanged at many places.

Naldehra the famous golf course at tourist resort Mashobra and its nearby areas were lashed with rain showers this afternoon and rain showers were experienced in many other places as dark clouds were hovering the sky since this noon in the State.

Reports arriving from Tourist Resort Manali said that heavy crowd of tourists got a sigh of relief as mercury was comparatively low today in the day as it was overcast.

Kalpa in Kinnaur and Manali were at 20 degrees each high today as both were packed to its capacity by the tourists. The Sangla valley in Kinnaur was 5 degrees low, Kalpa was the favourite destination for the tourists.

The Shimla town also saw a good crowd of tourists despite water acute shortage as it was high at 25.4 degrees, Solan and Dharamshala were high at 30 degrees each, Bhunter in Kullu 31 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur and Kangra 36 degrees each and Una was highest with 38.4 degrees in the State.

People will likely have a respite from the heat waves in the State in next 24 hours as light to moderate rains likely to occur at isolated places in the State during the next 24 hours.
