Himachal Pradesh Medical Officers Association (HMOA) welcomes the decision of the state government to hike the stipend of Residents doctors. Junior and Senior Residents doctors were demanding hike of stipend by Rs 50000, Rs 55000 and Rs 60000 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of their practice respectively.

Members of the association also hailed the decision of the State for not increasing the age of superannuation for the Teachers in the two Medical colleges.

HMOA said in a press statement issued today that it would not only take care of the young doctors who would serve the people, moreover it would stop the brain drain of qualified and trained doctors outside the state. Association president Dr. Sant Lal Sharma and General Secretary Dr. Jiwanand Chauhan alleged that after increasing the age of superannuation most of the young talented doctors were leaving their home state to join elsewhere or abroad.

Members of the Association were pressing to concede this demand since August 24th, 2015 as they had lodged a protest to bend the Government.
