Dharamshala Cricket Stadium has got the approval for Test matches by the International Cricket Council. The HPCA venue is the first in India to use winter rye grass scattered around the outfield, which prevents the grass from dying when the temperatures falls below 10 degrees celsius.

The venue soared in popularity after nine IPL matches held there. In 2012, stadium got permission to host international matches and now it has become a perfect spot for all cricket formats.
