Former Deputy Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Ram Dass Malangar passes way

The former Deputy Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly (1999-2003) passed away at his native home in Una District after a cardiac arrest this morning.

The state assembly, which was in session paid tribute and respect to the Deputy Speaker observing obituary references in the house this morning. Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh said that he was two-time member of the house and was elected as a Deputy Speaker from 10th Jan 1999 to 28th Jan 2008.

Mr. Singh said that the former BJP leader who served the party for 68 years passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his native village in Una this morning and he also recalled that he was elected on BJP ticket twice from Kutlehar in Una distirct.

Along with Mr Virbhadra Singh others members like Speaker of Assembly Mr. Brij Behari Lal Butail, Opposition leader Prem Kumar Dhumal, Transport Minister G.S Bali, Congress member Kuldeep Kumar, AICC General Secretary Rakesh Kalia, BJP member and party president Satpal Singh Sati, Verinder Kanwar and Ravinder Singh Ravi also paid their tribute to Mr. Malangar.
