Monsoon against disrupts life in Himachal Pradesh

Some parts of the hill state were again hit by heavy rainfall and cloudburst in last 24 hrs disrupting road, power and water supply. This heavy rainfall also caused landslides and washed down fertile land in few parts of Lahaul Spiti and Kullu district.

As per the reports that arrived here Nahan got 96 mm rainfall, Dharamshala recorded 64 mm rain, Jogindernagar in Mandi got 61 mm, Sarkaghat in Mandi recorded 57 mm, Kheri in Kullu got 41 mm rainfall, Tinder 39 mm, Poanta in Nahan 32 mm, Kangra 27 mm, Bhoranj in Hamirpur 27 mm, Palampur in Kangra 22 mm, Sirmaur and Shimla 17 mm, Gohar in Mandi 16 mm, Dalhousie in Chamba 14 mm, whereas Hamirpur and Baijnath recorded 10 mm rainfall at each of these places respectively.

The cloud burst in Spiti valley washed down about four persons last evening and who are yet to be, whereas this rainfall has already taken about eleven lives in the state and muck and rain water has washed down many houses in Lasar Gram Panchayat of Spiti valley.

Life remained paralyzed in Kullu district as many link roads got washed down and also there were many landslides at several places due to heavy rains. Although Monsoon was aggressive only in few parts bus was mild in rest of the state. The metrological office has forecast rain or thunder showers in few part of mid, high and foot hills in next 24 hrs.
