Private Secretary to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister appears before Enforcement Directorate in Shimla

Mr. Subhash Ahluwalia, Private Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh today appeared before Enforcement Directorate ASP (Additional Superintendent of Police) Mr. Bhupinder Singh Negi, who has been reportedly questioned in connection with the alleged money laundering charges for more than two and half hours.

After skipping the ED on 22nd Jun and 22nd April earlier, Mr Ahluwalia turned up before the ED office at Chauta Shimla at 1200 hours today carrying a number documents to defend him on various charges. Mr. Ahluwalia have been issued questioners by the ED seeking information about details of passport sought by him and his family member in last ten years.

He has been summoned twice to give details of him and his family member banks accounts and lockers in the country and abroad maintained. ED also questioned him about purchase and sale of land and property in the country and abroad by him and his family members and monetary transactions taken place and deposit of money in the account of his son, daughter and his nephew Mr. Naresh Alhuwalia residing at Virgina, United States.

Mr. Ahluwalia, has been issued the notice under the Foreign Exchange Management Act. Mr. Ahluwalia, a 1989-batch IAS officer, was appointed the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister in early 2013 after the formation of the Congress government. He remained Private Secretary to Virbhadra Singh during the previous stint from 2003 to 2007. He has come under the ED scanner for allegedly acquiring assets, both movable and immovable, and the foreign remittances received by him from his children living in the US have also been probed.
