Mercury noose dive several degrees from normal after high reaches experiences snowfall

Western disturbances have bought down the mercury level drastically in the state as high reaches of Kinnuar and Lahaul-Spiti districts have experienced snowfall while the down streams were lashed with significant rainfall in the state.

Report arriving here from Kinnuar and Lahaul Spiti confirm that Kinnuar and Shrikhand Kailesh Saptrishi hills,Baralacha, Lady of Keylongs and Rohtang pass experienced light spell of snowfall increasing cold wave in the state.

Tourist resort Dalhousie in Chamba got 15 mm rainfall, Palampur recorded 11.8 mm, Aghar and Hamirpur 11 mm each, Saluni in Chamba got 8 mm, Bharmaur 7.2 mm, Sujanpur in Hamirpur district recorded 7 mm, Dharmshala 6.8 mm while Kalatop recorded 24 mm of rain respectively.

Intermittent rainfall lashed owing to western disturbances in the state will continue in the state. The summer festival being held at the historic Ridge ground was also partly disrupted due to rain shower and windstorm last night.
