MP kicks off ‘Jan Suchana Abhiyan’

Member of Parliament, Shimla, Mr. Verinder Kashyap, Member of Parliament, Shimla today inaugurated three day Jan Suchana Abhiyan (public information campaign) organized by Press Information Bureau, Shimla with the help of other media units of ministry of information and broadcasting at Nehru ground.

Block Development Officer Mr. D.R. Chandel and LIC Regional Manger Bhupinder Singh informed people about various central programs running in the district. Lead UCO Bank Manager Mr. Tarun, informed people about progress of Pradan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana and linkage of Adhar with various states run schemes. Director of PIB, Chandigarh Ms. Subha Gupta informed that department is organizing 23 such campaigns in the state. Conducting Officer of Jan Suchana Abhiyan Mr. Tara Singh and Assistant Director of Director of Field Publicity, Mr. R.L. Negi welcomed the chief guests.

While addressing the people on this occasion, Mr. Kashyap said “Prdhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna launched by Prime Minister on the occasion of Independence day last year is helping poor to achieve their finical inclusion. It became possible for the first time, under the able leadership of Mr. Modi that one could think of opening bank account with ‘Zero- Balance. This scheme is getting a tremendous responsea and s many as 12.50 crore new bank accounts have opened up in one year in which accounts holders have deposited  Rupees 1400 crore in various banks.

 On the clarion- call given by Prime Minister for voluntarily contributing to Swachh Bharat Mission, he also said the scheme is getting an overwhelming support of people from various sections of society.

Lauding the efforts of organizers for organizing this campaign 
in this far flung area, Mr. Suresh Kashyap said “dissemination of information not only helps to effectively run various welfare schemes but it would assist departments to reach out real beneficiaries. Under Mr. Narendra Kumar Modi’s government one Medical College and IIM has been sanctioned in district Sirmaur and Kummerhati-Renuka road has been declared a National highway”.

The Center is giving liberal financial assistance to this hill state   as under 14th Finance Commission, it has allotted Rupees 75000 Cr for period of five years.” Mr Kashayap added that five national highways and three industrial corridors has been declared after sanctioning of Rupees 10,000 crore.
