High magnitude earthquake was experienced in border areas of Himachal Pradesh

    Mr. Manmohan Singh, Local IMD Officer and Director of Metrological centre, Shimla has confirmed that an earthquake measuring 7.5 magnitude on the richter scale occurred today at 1141 hrs.

    Epicentre of this earthquake was located at a latitude 28.1 degree north and longitude of 84.6 degree east with depth of 10 km in Nepal. But no report of loss of live and property has came from quake hit areas.

    The state falls in highly sensitive earthquake prone seismological line and parts of Kangra, Chamba, Shimla and Kinnuar districts are located in schedule IV zone.

      Is Shimla safe for tourism next month. We have booked tickets for next month. According to you will it be safe for us to visit shimla, after the earthquake incidence of Nepal. Please let us know. Your guidance is important for us.

      • Kunal saheb,life goes on. Nobody can predict a natural disaster. Please visit as long as you are comfortable. This is a good season to be in the mountains.
