Himachal to shiver more due to western disturbance says Metrological department

The Metrological department in Himachal has confirmed that due to yesterday’s western disturbance, an upper air cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Afghanistan & adjoining Pakistan shall bring rain or thundershowers at many places of Himachal with snow at high altitudes.

It said that yesterday’s induced upper air cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and its neighborhood now lies over southwest Rajasthan and its surrounding areas and extends up to 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level. Another induced upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab and its neighborhood at 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level.

State daily weather bulletin of the Meteorological department of Himachal also says that precipitation has occurred at isolated places over mid and high hills of the state during last 24 hrs where minimum temperature has increased by 1 to 20 degree Celsius, but there has been no increase in the maximum temperatures during last 24 hrs.

The Lowest temperature of -7.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in the past 24 hrs at Keylong (the head quarter of Lahaul and Spiti district) and highest temperature of 22.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Berthin (Agro). The state also experienced some snowfall at the higher reaches of Manali, Udaipur, Keylong and Kalpa & Moorang each that recorded 21mm, 10mm, 3mm and 3mm snow respectively.

The Rainfall recorded at  Manali was 12 mm  , Sarahan was 10mm , Tissa recorded 8 mm, Mashobra received 7mm, Kasol recorded 6mm, Naina Devi received 4mm, Bajaura & Kotkhai recieved 3 mm each and Dharamshala & Kumarsain recoreded 2 mm each respectively. The Metrological department has further predicted dry weather in the state from 4th February onwards.
