Doon legislator Ram Kumar acquits of murder case

Congress MLA from Doon (Solan district) Mr. Ram Kumar Chaudhary got acquitted of murder case of a Dalit woman in Panchkula court on Thursday.

Mr. Chaudhary was suspended from the party, who was first time MLA from Doon assembly. He has taken oath in the assembly despite being suspended by Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu soon after he was booked in the case.

MLA could not join any assembly session as he was denied subsequent bail by the court. Recently, Himachal Pradesh Assembly granted exemption to MLA from remaining absent in the house for long time as he was going to lose his membership.

Legislator, who is the son of four time former MLA Lajja Ram Chaudhary was produced in the court from jail and was joined by his supporters in large number.

The acquitted MLA along with four others was booked for murder of Dalit woman from Panchkula, the incident occured almost two years back.
