Himachal BJP vice-president seeks Rs. 100 crore grant to set up Parala apple market

Former horticulture minister and BJP state vice-president Narinder Bragta on Monday appealed union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh to grant Rs. 100 crore to Himachal Pradesh to complete construction of apple market yard at Prala near Jubbal and Kotkhai areas of Shimla district.

A delegation also joined by BJP member of Parliament comprising of Anurag Thakur Lok Sabha MP from Hamirpur, Varinder Kashayap MP from Shimla and Ramsawroop MP from Mandi and Vimla Kashyap met with union minister handed over a demand charters.

A BJP press statement released to media persons said that delegation raised the issue of under construction market of Parala which fall under Theog subdivision of Shimla district.

Mr. Bragta laments that Mr. Virbhadra Singh government in Himachal Pradesh is not taking interest in this market as outlay for this market yard have brought down to Rs. 12.76 crore. He said that it made the apple growers sad which was under construction with estimated cost of Rs. 100 crore.

The market is planned to build up in three phased after shortlisting of 80 to 100 bigha land as it would have the air conditions storage, banking and grade packaging system.
