50 percent fruits damaged in Sirmaur district

Report coming from Nahan said that hail and wind storm in Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh had hit the apple, peach, plums and walnut badly as farmer suffered 50 percent damage of their fruit and vegetable products.

Vegetable crops of farmers in the lower areas including Paonta Sahib and Kala Amb had suffered massive damage as standing crops in the field grounded after hail and wind storm.

Farmers lamented that government should come forward to provide compensation to the affected crops immediately so they could opt to future crop after getting advocate financial help in time.
