Thousands of  tourist lodging in this tourist resort had to toil hard  following call of Manali ‘bandh’ which crippled hospitality industry at Manali on Wednesday.

SDM Manali Vinay Dhiman said that market remained close and no taxi operated in the town.

But administration later pursued agitating trades and transport to resume service.

He said that they were pressing to lift embargo imposed by administration to not allow more than 400 tourist vehicles on the gateway to Lahaul & Spiti, 13050 feet high Rohtang Pass.

Since the ban on unlimited vehicles have been imposed in wake of high court orders, district administration could not accept this demand.

Moreover, it had agreed to take relaxation to buses and heavier vehicles to allow them after implementation of CNG fuel as the court ordered.

District administration and secretary transport have filed affidavit before the court accepting its inability that CNG based transport could not be created as it required supply of fuel in the state.

Services are restored after resolving the matter.

Tourist resorts are witnessing influx of large number of tourists in the peak summer.
