CPI(M) succeeds to grow Shimla despite insolence by Congress-BJP : Mayor

Addressing people of this capital town during various road shows, CPI(M) leader and Mayor Sanjay Chauhan claimed that party remained succeeded to grow the town with pace despite it was facing insolence and impudence by successive Congress and BJP rule in the state and its member in the MC house.

Mayor, who is enjoyed popular support during last MC elections claimed that MC was assuring all-round development of all wards of capital town as in short span it had spent about Rs. 20 crore on different developmental work which is record in itself.

Seeking vote for party Lok Sabha candidate Jagat Ram for Shimla Parliamentary constituency at Nabha and Phagalai of this town, Mr. Chauhan said it was striving hard to work in welfare and injustice being met out with exploited and working class.

Asserting that CPI(M) activists and leader always come out in support of any repression and anti-people policy of BJP and Congress misrule and now people were reposing their faith in its working.

“No political outfit have any mechanism to give respite to them but leaders like Jagat Ram had always struggled and worked hard in their favour and deserves to be elected for Lok Sabha.”

CPI(M) led Municipal Corporation which succeeded to almost paid long outstanding due of IPH and Electricity Board from its meager resources came down heavily on the state government for dismantling public services like education, health, power, water and transport.

Terming the policies of successive BJP and Congress rule in the state and center responsible for loading common man after levying user charges and user taxes from them, he said that both were bent upon to hand over the public welfare services in hand of private sectors.

“Private Education and Health Institutions were mushrooming up in the state as ruling political outfits are indulged in mass commercialization.” Mr. Chauhan alleged adding that private universities are flooding the state but no mechanism to regulate fee and quality of education had been created.

Road show was joined by local committee member Balbir Prasher and Prem Katha along with large number of other party activists.

Deputy Mayor Tekinder Singh Panwar and State Secretary of CITU Vijinder Mehra also held similar road shows and election gathering at Sunni, which was attended by different leaders and workers of party fronts.

It had strong presence among students, employees unions of the state and centre government, banks, insurance, public and private sectors and Aganwari workers in the state.

The Party is considered as third big force in the state and had also pitted its candidate from Mandi Parliamentary Segment.

Currently BJP have three Lok Sabha members and ruling Congress one.
