Snow and rain lashes Himachal again

Himachal Pradesh was experiencing snowfall on high reaches, hail storms on middle and high hills and thundershowers and rainfall in the downstream.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district had 15 cm fresh snowfall, Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti district 13 cm, Morang in Kinnaur district 10 cm and Manali 5 cm.

Many parts in the middle and high hills were lashed with hailstorm this afternoon which was reported harmful for blooming pink buds in stone fruit.

Rain and thundershowers occur in the down streams as Dalhousie had highest 50 mm rain in Chamba district followed by Tissa and Gohar in Mandi district 49 mm each, Jogindernagar in Mandi 48 mm, Kasol in Bilaspur 45 mm, Bijahi in Mandi district, Manali and Seobagh in Kullu district 41 mm each, Chamba town and Renuka ji in Sirmaur district 37 mm each, Bhuntar in Kullu district 36 mm, Bajaura 44 mm, Sangrah in Sirmaur district 32 mm and Solan 30 mm.

Manali was coldest in the state and recorded low at minus 1 degrees followed by Kalpa minus 0.7 degrees, Keylong 0.7 degrees, Dalhousie 1 degrees, Shimla town and Bhuntar at 6 degrees each, Dharamshala and Palampur 7 and 8 degrees respectively.

Minimum temperature of Chamba and Nahan 9 degrees each, Solan 10 degrees, Kangra, Sundernagar, Una and Hamirpur 11 degrees each, Mandi 12 degrees and Bilaspur 15 degrees.

The Met office forecast thundershowers, hails storms and snowfall in the state during next 24 hours. Tomorrow weather would be mainly dry in the middle and foot hills.
