Model code of conduct came into force in Himachal

State chief electoral officer Narinder Chauhan today said that model code of conduct has came into force in this hill state after announcement of Lok Sabha general elections 2014 from today onwards.

Urging the political parties to follow model code of conduct, Mr. Chauhan said that with immediate effect no minister or any officer would not give economic sanction or promise to any one.

He said that no foundation stones could be laid on by any government functionary except civil officials. No announcement of scheme for construction of road and drinking water to be announced or consented.

No ad hoc recruitment could be made in government public undertaking units with imposing of model code of conduct, he added.
