Cold wave continues in Himachal; Met. office forecast more rain

The cold wave continues in this hill state as it was partly cloudy today, meanwhile Indian meteorological office forecast more spell of rain or snow in next 24 hours.

Following mainly dry weather in the state people took some respite from extreme cold wave but it was unabated in the high reaches as minimum temperature is still under subzero in many parts of the state. Bharmaur in Chamba district was coldest at minus 11 degrees, Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti district minus 6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur district minus 1.4 degrees and Dalhousie zero degrees.

The night temperature improvised in the middle hills as Manali and Solan were 2 degrees each, Shimla, Dharamshala and Nahan were at 5, 6 and 7 degrees respectively. Palampur and Chamba 8 degrees each, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Bhuntar in Kullu district, Una and Kangra 9 degrees each, Bilaspur and Hamirpur 11 degrees each.

The Met. office said that rainfall was recorded in some parts of Chamba district as Tissa had 11 mm rain and Saluni 5 mm.

It forecast that western disturbances were prevailing in the region as it would bring rain or snowfall at many parts of middle hills, rain or snowfall in few parts of high reaches and rain or thundershowers at few parts of foot hills in next 24 hours.
