Sino firms turns down construction of bridges

Sino firms engaged in construction of Mehatpur to Ambikapur construction in Una district along Punjab border had turned down the construction of left out bridges on this road.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh who also holds the portfolio of public works department said in reply of query raised by Kuldeep Kumar (Chintpurni-Congress) during the question hour in the house on Tuesday that Chinese firm M/s. Longjian road & bridge Ltd Co. have to complete construction of this road by June 2014.

He said that firm had shown its inability to complete construction of work stating that its supervisor and technical staff has already left the country. He said that construction of road is delayed due to dispute of issuing of visa to the staff of this firm.

Chief minister said that government would re-invite fresh tenders to complete construction of bridges on the road.
