Not relenting the normal life which is snowbound still in many parts of this hill state, Indian Meteorological Department warned of more heavy rain or snowfall following fresh western disturbances likely to become effective after February 22.

The weather bulletins released today said that fresh western disturbances were moving towards this hill state, are likely to become active, which would become aggressive on February 22, likely to bring rain or snowfall at most of the places in the state and warning of heavy rain or snowfall is being issued in some parts of the state.

The western disturbances will also remain active in the state from February 21 to 24, will also bring rain or snow in few parts of the state. Meanwhile, many roads and places are still under snow. National Highway 22 is opened via Narkanda from today onwards but local roads to Rohru could not be opened as enough snow is on the road at Kharapather.

About 15 persons have been registered with snow injures at IGMC during last 24 hours, however, most of the roads and pedestrian paths were still covered by slippery snow.

State had heavy rainfall on last February 14 and 15 which had affected life in Kinnaur, Lahaul & Spiti, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. The normal life is yet to come on the track but fresh snowfall is likely to derail the restoration efforts.

The bright sunshine during last two days gave respite from severe cold wave in the state as mercury raised by 3 to 4 degrees.

Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti was at minus 10 degrees, Manali minus 1.2 degrees, Dalhousie in Chamba district 2.4 degrees, Chamba and Kalpa in Kinnaur district 3 degrees each, Shimla, Bhuntar, Una and Hamirpur 4 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Solan and Kangra 5 degrees each, Palampur 6 degrees Dharamshala and Bilaspur 7 degrees each.
