Himachal records coldest night of the season

Himachal Pradesh witnessed coldest night of this winter season as minimum temperature was recorded minus 20 to 25 degrees and mostly below normal and near freezing point in most of the places in the state.

Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti was cold at minus 15 degrees which was 5 degrees below normal. Petsio in Lahaul & Spiti valley was coldest at minus 18 degrees.

Kalpa, regional headquarters of Kinnaur was low at minus 6.8 degrees that was 3.8 degrees below normal. Manali 4.5 degrees, down by 3 degrees and Bhuntar minus 0.2 degrees, down by 2 degrees. Power supply is also disrupted in many parts of the state.

Sundernagar in Mandi district was low at minus 0.5 degrees which was down by 6.5 degrees, Solan 0.4 degrees, down by 4 degrees, Dalhousie 0.1 degrees which was up by 1 degrees and Chamba 0.3 degrees, down by 6 degrees.

Shimla and Hamirpur were recorded low at 0.5 degrees each which was 2.2 and 6 degrees respectively below normal, Kangra and Palampur 1 degrees each, down by 4 and 5 degrees, Una and Nahan 3.3 degrees and down by 1.7 and 6 degrees respectively. Dharamshala in Kangra district was low at 5 degrees.

During last 24 hours, tourists resort Kufri recorded 2 cm snowfall, Theog 3 cm and for first time in this seasons Bijaa bof Mandi got 3.7 mm snowfall.

The Met office forecast rain or snowfall in few parts of the state in next 24 hours. It also predicted that heavy snowfall could occur on February 14 following arrival of fresh western disturbances.
