Met. office forecast more rain or snow in HP

The Meteorological Department forecast more rain or snowfall in this hill state as fresh western disturbances were approaching which are likely to create further inclement weather conditions in the state.

An upper air cyclonic circulation lies between 1.5 and 3.1 km above sea level over North India and is likely to bring widespread rain or snowfall from January 31 onwards.

However, Met. office forecast rain or snow in some parts of middle hills in next 24 hours. Today it was partly cloudy but dry in the state.

Minimum temperature remained mainly unchanged as Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti district was coldest at minus 11.8 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur district 0.6 degrees and tourists resort Manali at 0 degrees Celsius.

Bhuntar in Kullu district was at 2 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Hamirpur, Chamba and Una were at 3 degrees each. Solan 4 degrees, Bilaspur and Kangra 5 degrees each.

In Shimla, Dharamshala in Kangra district, Palampur and Nahan in Sirmaur district were low at 6 degrees each and tourist resort Dalhousie was at 7 degrees Celsius.
