2 killed, 14 injured in an accident near Kufri : HP

Two persons were killed and remaining fourteen others sustained injuries in an accident occurred at tourist destination Kufri near Shimla on Thursday.

According to police station Dhalli investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector Prem Lal, the accident occurred around 10 am at Kufri when a vehicle HR- 39 C- 2299 skidded off the road and fell around 60 feet into the gorge.

Two persons Ved Bala 37 years and a minor Rohit 10 years were killed on the spot while fourteen others were injured including the driver and were shifted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital.

The injured have been identified as Anil (29), Sunil (32), Lalita (28), Tejpal (39), Jyoti (18), Jyoti (25), Vikas (16), Tanuj (9), Promila (27), Pawan (40), Suresh (27), Rea (2) and Kittu (2) disclosed by the police official.

He further disclosed that all were residents of Yognagar, Hissar.

While the reason for the accident is yet to be ascertained, the vehicle could have skidded off the road owing to the ice having frozen on the road due to the previous snowfall.

IGMC, Senior Medical Superintendent, Ramesh Chand revealed that all the 14 injured were brought to the hospital, they are stable and out of danger.
