K.S. Tomar calls on UPSC chairman

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission chairman Mr. K. S. Tomar called on Union Public Service Commission chairman Prof. D.P. Aggarwal in New Delhi today and discussed about functioning of State Public Service Commission.

Mr. K. S. Tomar offered to host the annual conference of chairpersons of State Public Service Commissions at Shimla during the year 2014 or year 2015 and UPSC chairman accepted the proposal and told him that UPSC will communicate the decision about the conference to state public service commission request shortly.

Mr. Tomar apprised him of various innovative steps taken by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. He informed UPSC chairman that various steps like online applications, bar coded system, toll free service, e-payment system have been introduced for facilitating the candidates of various entrance examinations. Prof. D.P. Aggarwal chairman UPSC felt that there should be parity in pay, perks and allowances of all the chairpersons of public service commissions in India.

Mr. Tomar chairman told that in Himachal Pradesh the status and rank equivalent of chief secretary has been accorded to the state public service commission and has also authorized to use national flag on official vehicle recently which was in existence in ninety percent of public service commissions in India.
