Virbhadra Singh rule acting in revengeful manner : Dhumal

Leader of opposition and former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal slammed the incumbent Virbhadra Singh rule for acting in a revengeful manner against his political adversaries.

Mr. Dhumal said in a press statement released today that Mr. Singh has threatened him to put him behind the bars. This appeared in the section of press today.

Former C.M. stated that in case he wants to do so for no fault of his, he is ready to face it. He said that the Chief Minister is forgetting that this is a democratic country and the rule of law prevails.

He said that he has welcomed all the inquiries being conducted by the government from time to time but it appears that the Chief Minister knowingly in order to influence the inquiries is issuing such type of statements.

It also appears that he himself has become “Investigator, Prosecutor and the Judge”. In case, he is to decide everything, then what he is waiting for. Is the government inquiring the matter or it is just a publicity stunt? At times, the statements are being issued by him and other times by the officers of the Vigilance department.

As far as the matter relating to CD case is concerned, the Chief Minister himself had asked the Vigilance department to inquire this matter in 2007 and also took the matter to the Hon’ble High Court of H.P. and now blaming us time and again for his misdeeds. He questioned what is the hitch in accepting the bare facts. Mr. Dhumal maintained that his government had not committed any crime by allotting land for providing sport facilities of international standard to the youth of the state after having completed all codal formalities in public interest.

The infrastructure so created is a public property and does not belong to anyone. He reminded him the case in which the land was transferred in his name and blame was put on an officer by taking the plea that he was ignorant about the law.

The people of Hamirpur very well know that the offices of Chief Engineer PWD, IPH and electricity, Chief Conservator of Forest, were opened during the tenure of BJP government. In addition, technical university, career point university, B.Ed colleges, number of degree colleges and schools, bridges and road connectivity were provided by our government.

The Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra, NIT, Hotel Management Institute and Regional Centre of Horticulture University were also opened during the BJP tenure. On the contrary, the present government immediately after taking over, shifted the divisional office of HIMUDA and JAICA project office. The police battalion, Jangleberi was shifted overnight by the present government while it was established by BJP government. CM should not talk about the development of Hamirpur who himself at one point of time stated that the Service Selection Board will be converted into a ‘Murgikhana’.

He further commented that self praise has no recommendation because the honest and competent officers/officials have been sidelined and are being victimized and harassed by making their frequent transfers. In their place, the persons with what background are being encouraged, is a matter of discussion all around including the H.P. Secretariat.
