High Court ordered CBI probe in a fake degrees case

Himachal Pradesh High Court ordered CBI probe into a petition filed before it directing state agency to handover the inquiry of the case regarding obtaining jobs on the bases of fake degrees.

Division bench comprising Chief Justice Mr. Kurian Joseph and Justice Mr. Dharam Chand Chaudhary passed these orders on a petition filed by a retired Principal  Mr. V.P. Ahluwalia, wherein he had alleged that Mr. Rajesh Thakur, Director of Thakur College of Education, Dhaliara have used fake documents to get recognition for educational courses from the National Council of Teacher Education (N.C.T.E.) and that the H.P. University and the N.C.T.E. were not taking any action on his complaints.

He had also alleged that the siblings of Mr. Rajesh Thakur had used fake degrees to get government jobs. The CBI had registered a case on complaint of Mr. V.P. Ahluwalia in which he had alleged that  Dr. Ajit Singh Rana, the  Regional Director of the NCTE Jaipur, had abused official position to grant recognition to Thakur College of Education for additional intake of 100 seats for B.Ed. and 25 seats for M.Ed. during year 2007-08 in gross and criminal violation of laid down norms and guidelines of N.C.T.E.

The Court also directed the Additional Director General of Police, State Vigilance & Anti-corruption Bureau to handover the entire materials collected by them in FIR No. 11/2011 on their file to Superintendent of Police CBI Shimla, within two weeks.High Court further directed CBI to take appropriate action in accordance with law in three months, as far as this case in concerned. The court disposed the case in favour of petitioner after passing the order.
