Fire brigade conducts mock drill at CTO Shimla

Shimla, Dec 17 : In order to test the ‘response time’ for fire fighting at multi-storey building in the congested place, fire brigade today conducted a mock drill at City Telegraph Office (CTO) near Deputy Commissioner office at heart of this capital town.

Talking to Himvani, District Chief Fire officer M.S. Sonkhhala said that this was following state government advisory to test the response time required for any fire fighting action at fire spot located in a congested building. He said that following the advisory, such mock drill was organised in every district. He added that this morning a fire tender rushed to CTO from control room where one donzen fire officials tested their acumen to douse the flames  on third, fourth and fifth floor, which was largely successful. More over he informed that station and sub-station fire officers were inspecting private and government offices, especially hospitals to test the hurdle in the fire fighting and verify the fire safety manual being adopted by the respective authorities.
